M Asif Rahman is the Founder of WPDeveloper, the company behind Essential Addons for Elementor, one of the most widely installed plugins in the WordPress ecosystem. He built his first company years before finishing university and has since backed dozens of other founders as an angel investor.
Starting a Company Before Graduating
M Asif Rahman completed a degree in Telecommunications Engineering at North South University. In 2004, while still a student, he founded ARCom, a WordPress-focused media company, and spent several years scaling it into international markets before it became the foundation for his later ventures.
Founding WPDeveloper
M Asif Rahman founded WPDeveloper in 2012, building it around a simple premise: develop products to solve problems the team ran into themselves rather than chasing whatever looked like a market opportunity at the time. That approach shaped the company's first major release five years later.
Essential Addons Reaches Millions
In 2017, WPDeveloper launched Essential Addons for Elementor, a widget library that has since grown to more than 7 million active installations, giving it close to 5 percent global market share among Elementor add-ons. That growth turned WPDeveloper into one of the largest plugin companies in the WordPress ecosystem, with a team of more than 120 engineers.
A Portfolio Beyond One Company
Alongside WPDeveloper, M Asif Rahman has founded or backed more than two dozen other ventures, including Startise, where he serves as Chairman, along with Templately, Easy.Jobs, and Storeware. He has invested in Bangladeshi startups since 2009, drawing on the lessons from scaling ARCom and WPDeveloper to support other early-stage founders.
Recognition as a WordPress Pioneer
As Prothom Alo has reported, M Asif Rahman was named a JCI Ten Outstanding Young Person, recognition awarded to a small group of young Bangladeshis for contributions across their respective sectors. He also serves as Founding President of JCI Dhaka Founders, extending his focus on mentorship beyond his own companies.
