About ShareTrip
ShareTrip is an end-to-end travel booking platform covering flights, hotels, and holiday packages, built from what started as a personal travel-planning habit rather than a business plan. Sadia Haque co-founded the company, rebranding a small offline travel agency into what has become Bangladesh's leading online travel platform.
Her path into the travel industry began as a shared interest with her husband, one that repeatedly exposed gaps in Bangladesh's travel booking market long before she started a company around it.
Fourteen Years Before Founding
Sadia Haque built more than a decade of experience in marketing and leadership roles at Grameenphone, BBC World Service Trust, Nokia, and Banglalink, where she eventually served as Head of Mother Brand. That corporate marketing career gave her a deep understanding of brand-building in Bangladesh's consumer market well before she started a company of her own.
She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a dual major in Marketing and Human Resource Management from North South University in Dhaka, a foundation that shaped how deliberately ShareTrip was branded and marketed once it launched. Leading the Mother Brand function at a major telecom operator, in particular, gave her direct experience building consumer trust at national scale, a skill that mattered directly once ShareTrip began asking customers to book expensive travel purchases online.
A Personal Habit Becomes a Business
During her corporate career, Sadia Haque and her husband developed a shared interest in travel and planning budget-friendly trips. That habit repeatedly exposed gaps in Bangladesh's travel industry, from limited booking transparency to inconsistent pricing, and eventually became the inspiration for a business rather than just a hobby.
In 2014, the couple established a part-time offline travel agency, testing the idea alongside their existing jobs before committing to it fully, a gradual, low-risk path into entrepreneurship rather than a sudden leap. That five-year runway between the offline agency and ShareTrip's 2019 commercial launch gave Sadia Haque time to validate demand before investing in a full digital platform.
Rebuilding as ShareTrip
The offline agency later rebranded as ShareTrip, launching iOS and Android apps alongside a website to offer a complete end-to-end travel solution. ShareTrip commercially launched in July 2019, entering a market where most travel bookings in Bangladesh still ran through informal agents and phone calls.
The platform has since grown to more than 1.5 million downloads, and ShareTrip became the first Bangladeshi travel agency to operate internationally, opening a branch office in Dubai with approval from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, a regulatory milestone that few Bangladeshi travel-tech companies had previously cleared.
Recognition as ICT Woman of the Year
In 2024, Sadia Haque was honored with the ICT Woman of the Year title at the 9th BRAC Bank PLC-The Daily Star ICT Awards, recognition that came alongside other honors including the Kotler Awards, Women of Inspiration Awards, and C-Suite Awards. Those accolades reflect both ShareTrip's growth and Sadia Haque's visibility as one of the more prominent women leading a tech company in Bangladesh's travel sector.
That recognition arrived five years after ShareTrip's commercial launch, timing that reflected the platform's sustained growth rather than a single breakout moment.
Where ShareTrip Stands Today
Sadia Haque continues to lead ShareTrip's expansion, building on the personal travel-planning habit that started the company a decade ago. Employee reviews point to a positive hiring and interview process as a particular strength, alongside more mixed feedback on day-to-day work-life balance and compensation, common tensions at fast-growing consumer travel platforms.
ShareTrip's international expansion into Dubai has positioned the company as one of the few Bangladeshi travel-tech businesses with a genuine cross-border operating presence, rather than serving international customers purely through its domestic platform.
Products
ShareTrip's platform centers on end-to-end travel booking rather than a single packaged product.
Flight Booking is one of ShareTrip's core services, letting users book air travel through its website and mobile apps.
Hotel Booking extends the platform into accommodations, part of the complete travel solution ShareTrip set out to build.
Holiday Packages round out ShareTrip's offering, covering bundled travel experiences beyond individual flight and hotel bookings.
Across flights, hotels, and holiday packages, ShareTrip's platform reflects the end-to-end travel vision that grew out of a personal travel-planning habit into Bangladesh's leading online travel business, now with a branch office in Dubai and more than 1.5 million downloads.
