About Tasfia Tasbin
Tasfia Tasbin is the Co-Founder and CEO of Markopolo AI, a behavioral intelligence and customer engagement platform built for e-commerce and direct-to-consumer brands. Her background is in electrical engineering rather than marketing, an unusual entry point for a company now competing in global adtech.
An Engineering Foundation
Tasbin studied Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, graduating in 2017. Before co-founding Markopolo AI, she worked at Gaze Technology, a visual AI startup, and completed an IoT traineeship at DataSoft Systems Bangladesh.
That combination of visual AI and hardware-adjacent experience gave her a technical foundation that most marketing-platform founders don't start with.
Founding Markopolo AI
In 2021, Tasbin co-founded Markopolo AI in Dhaka alongside Rubaiyat Farhan and a third co-founder. The platform was built to help e-commerce and D2C businesses understand customer behavior and engagement patterns using AI, rather than relying on the fragmented analytics tools most online sellers were stitching together manually.
The company has since expanded its footprint well beyond Bangladesh, serving customers internationally while keeping its founding team's roots in Dhaka's engineering talent pool.
Winning on a Global Stage
Markopolo AI has picked up recognition on more than one international stage. As The Business Standard has covered, the company won the AI Oasis Hackathon at LEAP 2024 in Saudi Arabia, securing a $40,000 grant, and placed in the top 10 of South Korea's K-Startup Grand Challenge.
Those results gave the company credibility with investors and partners well outside Bangladesh's own startup ecosystem, at a stage when many local startups are still building domestic traction.
Forbes Recognition
In 2023, Tasbin and her co-founder were named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list, a recognition that placed Markopolo AI among a small group of Bangladeshi-founded companies to receive that distinction. The honor reflected both the technical ambition of the platform and its early traction in international markets.
Tasbin continues to lead Markopolo AI's product and company strategy, building out an AI platform from a Bangladeshi engineering base into a company competing directly with adtech and martech players built in much larger startup hubs.
