Mohammad Shahjahan (Shahjahan Jewel)

Mohammad Shahjahan, known across the WordPress community as Shahjahan Jewel, is the Founder and CEO of WPManageNinja, the company behind Fluent Forms, FluentCRM, and the wider Fluent Suite of WordPress plugins.

What started as a way to solve his own agency's problems has grown into a product line used by more than 750,000 businesses and powering over 1.25 million websites worldwide.

From Freelancer to Product Founder

Jewel started programming in 2008 and moved into WordPress development around 2010, building websites mainly for nonprofits, banks, and small businesses through his own agency. Client work taught him where WordPress fell short for smaller businesses that couldn't afford custom development for every problem they ran into.

WPManageNinja, launched around 2015, is actually his second company, the first being the agency that gave him the idea for it.

Spotting a Gap in the Market

Rather than building another agency, Jewel set out to build plugins that could solve the same recurring problems he kept seeing across client projects, aimed specifically at small and medium-sized businesses that WordPress's existing plugin ecosystem wasn't serving well.

That focus shaped everything WPManageNinja has built since: tools that are affordable, practical, and built around the actual pain points of running a small business website rather than technical novelty for its own sake.

Building the Fluent Suite

WPManageNinja's product lineup grew into what's now known as the Fluent Suite: Fluent Forms, FluentCRM, Ninja Tables, Fluent Support, and FluentSMTP among them.

Fluent Forms alone has become one of the most-installed form builders in the WordPress plugin directory, and the suite as a whole now supports more than 1.25 million live websites.

How FluentCRM Was Born

One of the more telling stories about how Jewel builds products is FluentCRM's origin. When WPManageNinja needed to notify customers about plugin updates and promotions, the team initially used Mailchimp, but every campaign meant manual CSV exports and imports, or custom coding to keep customer data in sync.

Rather than keep patching around that friction, Jewel's team built their own internal tool to handle it. That internal tool eventually became FluentCRM, now sold as a standalone product to other WordPress businesses facing the exact same problem.

Scaling Past a Million Websites

Today WPManageNinja employs more than 115 people, and Jewel has continued expanding his footprint in the WordPress hosting and infrastructure space, more recently joining xCloud as a partner.

He remains a regular presence at WordPress events, including WordCamp Dhaka, where he speaks about product development, marketing automation, and the practical realities of building a WordPress SaaS business.

Still Solving the Same Problem

More than a decade into building for WordPress, Jewel's stated goal hasn't changed much from where he started: stepping into the shoes of small business owners, identifying where they get stuck, and closing the gap between where they are and where they're trying to get to.

It's a modest way to describe a company that now touches over a million websites, but it's consistent with how WPManageNinja actually grew: one real problem at a time, rather than a single grand plan.
