About Ershadul Hoque
Ershadul Hoque is the Founder and CEO of Riseup Labs, a Dhaka-based technology company that builds custom software, games, immersive technology, BPO services, and AI-powered platforms for clients around the world.
His path to founding the company ran through nearly two decades of hands-on development work and one earlier startup abroad before he built a company of his own back home.
Coding Since His Student Years
Hoque started developing web and mobile applications in 2005, while he was still a student, working in PHP, CSS, and early Android development.
It wasn't formal entrepreneurship at that point, just steady part-time project work driven by curiosity about how software got built, on top of whatever he was formally studying. That early, informal apprenticeship in shipping real projects gave him a practical grounding that shaped how he'd later run his own company.
A Startup in Malaysia First
Before founding Riseup Labs, Hoque co-founded Enveluv Sdn Bhd, a startup affiliated with Multimedia University in Malaysia.
Enveluv received a pre-seed fund of RM 150,000 from the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), a Malaysian government agency focused on digital economy development. Running that company gave Hoque direct experience with a formal startup funding process and cross-border operations before he returned to build something of his own in Bangladesh.
Founding Riseup Labs
Hoque founded Riseup Labs after developing a deeper interest in entrepreneurship through his prior projects and his time at Enveluv.
Rather than narrowing into a single vertical, he built the company around a broader range of digital capabilities: custom software development, game development, immersive technologies like AR and VR, business process outsourcing, and more recently, AI-powered platforms.
Building Across Software, Games, and Immersive Tech
That range, including the company's own Riseup Gaming Platform, is part of what distinguishes Riseup Labs from many Bangladeshi software companies that stick to a single service line.
Under Hoque's leadership, the company has worked across sectors that don't typically overlap in one company's portfolio, from enterprise software projects to interactive game titles, reflecting his own background moving between different kinds of technical work rather than specializing early.
Recognition Beyond Bangladesh
Hoque's work has been recognized internationally, including a win at the Bangladesh Gaming Expo in 2017 and a Bizz Hybrid Award for leadership from the World Confederation of Businesses (WORLDCOB), an award that recognizes business leaders across multiple countries rather than a single domestic market.
Still Building, Nearly Two Decades In
Two decades after he first started writing code as a student, Hoque continues to lead Riseup Labs' push into newer territory, particularly AI-powered platforms and immersive technology, rather than settling into the services that built the company's early revenue.
His career reads less like a single founding moment and more like a continuous line from freelance student developer to startup co-founder to CEO of a multi-discipline technology company.
