About Dr. F. H. Ansarey

Dr. A K M Fareyzul Haque Ansarey, widely known as Dr. F. H. Ansarey, is the Managing Director and CEO of ACI Agrolink Ltd., a leading integrator of agricultural inputs and outputs in Bangladesh spanning seed, fertilizer, and an agri-marketplace platform. His career in the sector began years before ACI Agrolink existed as a company.

A Scientist Before a Businessman

Ansarey completed a BSc Honors in Zoology before earning both a Master's degree and a PhD in Ecology, an academic foundation more common among researchers than agribusiness executives. That scientific grounding shaped how he later approached agriculture, treating it as a system to be studied and optimized rather than simply a commodity trade.

He began his professional career in 1981 at Ciba Geigy, a multinational agribusiness company, gaining early exposure to how large international firms structured agricultural input businesses before Bangladesh had many domestic equivalents.

Joining ACI and Building From the Ground Up

Ansarey joined ACI Limited in 1995 as Head of the Crop Protection Business, and was promoted to Executive Director of Agribusinesses in July 1998. Over the following decades, he became the driving force behind a series of new ACI ventures, including ACI Formulations Ltd., ACI Motors Ltd., Premiaflex Plastics Ltd., ACI Agrolink Limited, ACI Animal Health, ACI Fertilizer, and ACI Seed.

That pattern, launching one new agribusiness line after another under the ACI umbrella, made him one of the more prolific business builders in Bangladesh's agricultural sector.

Creating Wealth for Farmers

In 2007, Ansarey conceptualized what became ACI Agribusiness's guiding mission: "Creating Wealth for Farmers." That framing positioned ACI's various agribusiness units not simply as input suppliers or output buyers, but as partners whose growth was tied directly to farmer income, a mission statement that has anchored the group's strategy for nearly two decades.

He now serves as Managing Director of four ACI subsidiaries beyond Agrolink: ACI Motors Limited, ACI Premiaflex Plastics Limited, and ACI Marine and Riverine Technologies Ltd., overseeing a portfolio that spans far beyond traditional crop inputs.

A Voice Beyond ACI

Ansarey serves as a board member of the Canada Chamber of Commerce and Industry, sits on the Executive Committee of the Water 2030 Resource Group, and is a Director of the Krishi Gobeshona Foundation, which supports agricultural research in Bangladesh. He is also a Syndicate Member, part of the governing body, of Bangladesh Agricultural University.

Those roles extend his influence beyond ACI's own commercial operations into the broader research and policy infrastructure shaping Bangladeshi agriculture, reflecting more than three decades spent building agribusiness institutions rather than a single company.
